New York City isn't usually the first place you think of when you think of random good deeds. This might change your mind.

My friend Justine just moved to New York.  She was getting on the subway when a woman handed her some money with a note attached to it:

Apparently a woman was celebrating her birthday by handing out money to strangers. It was her way of spreading some joy and encouraging people to pay it forward.  What a great idea!
