The holiday season has officially begun and many took advantage of the "hot deals" offered on Black Friday and Cyber Monday. On the other hand, some of us who had to "sit this one out" due to financial constraints.... hey, it happens!

The Holiday Blues

While most of us would love to splurge on anything and everything on Black Friday or Cyber Monday, times can be tough for some - especially this time of year. According to USA Today and WalletHub, “52% of shoppers said they plan to apply for a new card for holiday shopping.”

Another survey by Debt.com “found that 66% of holiday shoppers plan to take on debt.”

And look - we all know that going into debt for holiday shopping isn’t necessarily a good idea, some of us are willing to do whatever it takes to give our families a memorable holiday season.

That can especially be said for those with children.

What If You Have Money Waiting For You… But Didn’t Know It That’s okay!

Stress can do a lot of things including make you forget the resources you have at your disposal. One of those resources is the state of Idaho and no, we don't mean a "government handout."

We're talking unclaimed property and according to the state of Idaho, "millions of dollars are transferred to the Unclaimed Property Division each year by companies that cannot locate the owners."

It's as simple as searching your last name or business name and poof - you might find several instances where you're owed a few bucks here, a few bucks there... and you never know - you could have some holiday cash available that you didn't even know about
