Huge Sinkhole Opens Up in Nampa

Watch out drivers! A huge sinkhole has opened up in Nampa! 

This is one of those things you see in the movies or it happens somewhere else, but this morning a ginormous sinkhole has appeared on Garrity Boulevard in Nampa.

This is on the underpass of I-84. The southbound lanes in the area have been completely shut down.

The good news is the sinkhole is not impacting traffic on the freeway. Crews are working on the scene and they say the repairs will most likely take several days.

According to KTVB, a water main break caused the sinkhole to open up at about 3:40 a.m. this morning.

Sinkholes have always freaked me out. I've heard stories about sinkholes swallowing people up as they sleep or drive. Luckily no one was injured in this situation this morning. Just avoid Garrity in Nampa under the freeway for the next couple of days while they get things cleaned up.
