Lawmakers Seek New Penalty For Idaho Child Predators
Committing a crime is not something we condone, but allow us to say this: some crimes are a lot worse than others.
If you get caught for exceeding the speed limit, of course, that's bad... but it's not the worst. If you coast through a stop sign, of course, that's terrible... but it's not the worst.
Then there are some crimes that we simply cannot excuse or defend...
Idaho Lawmakers Are Cracking Down On Child Predators
Let us just say, as a parent who has several other parent friends, we 100% support the efforts of Idaho legislation when it comes to cracking down on child predators.
And maybe you will, or maybe you won't... but Idaho has shown they're not messing around with the latest bill proposed, HB 380.
According to the proposed bill, "every person eighteen (18) years of age or older guilty of aggravated lewd conduct with a minor child twelve (12) years of age or under shall be punished by death or by imprisonment for life."
Is That Enough To Combat Child Predators?
We're no experts on the law but there's probably a reason lawmakers chose the age of 12. If it were up to us, we would raise the age even higher and closer to 18.
Again - we're not experts but we're allowed to have an opinion. Besides, think of all the creepers out there or would-be sex offenders who are grooming children and doing so as they enter their teens.
It's disgusting, it's repulsive, and it should be meant with the maximum punishment that lawmakers propose.
But, we digress.
What do YOU think about the proposed bill? Is it enough? Is it too much?
