Heads Up, Idaho Hunters! A Big Change Is Coming This March
If there's one thing we can say about 2025 up to this point, it's that this year is definitely the year of change. However, not everyone is happy about it, especially with Idaho Fish & Game's latest announcement.
You could even say it's "ruffled some feathers."
Idaho Fish & Game License Change 2025
Just a few days ago, Idaho Fish & Game shared an announcement regarding the Price Lock program for their licenses. To put it simply, the Price Lock program is exactly what it sounds like - if you pay for a three-year license, you can keep receiving discounted pricing as long as you "buy a license each year."
According to a press release from Idaho Fish & Game, however, that will all change in March.
"During its Jan. 29 meeting (rewatch here), the Idaho Fish and Game Commission amended the Price Lock Discount Order," IDGF said in their release, "After March 5, customers will no longer be able to opt into Idaho Fish and Game's Price Lock program by purchasing a 3-year license or by purchasing a lifetime certificate."

"There will be no change for any customer that is currently in the Price Lock program—but no new customers will be able to opt into the program after March 5."
As you'd expect, some people were not happy with the announcement.
"Idaho fish & no game," wrote another.
"Can DOGE look into Idaho Fish & Game?" one comment read.
Another person echoed that comment with a similar one: "We need DOGE to do an audit on IDFG/ Sure there's plenty of waste in this department."
