Warm weather is typically a good thing, right? It allows us to get outside, soak up the sun, and enjoy some of the beautiful spaces and areas that Idaho has to offer.

Sadly, the warm weather can bring destruction to those same outdoor favorites in Idaho. It's become such a problem that Idaho Fish & Game is now stepping up to say something about it.

Idaho's Favorite Outdoor Areas Are In Danger

One of the best things both locals and newcomers love about Idaho is how fresh it is. Sure, it's growing, and people are moving in, but there are so many outdoor spots to escape all of that in Idaho.

Pair the beautiful outdoor scenery with Idaho's incredible warm weather, and you have the perfect combo. The warmer temperatures bring all sorts of people out to enjoy Idaho at its best.

The unfortunate news is that those same spots we love visiting to escape are also in danger of being ruined. In a recent press release from Idaho Fish & Game, a senior conservation officer shared a shocking discovery that shows just how bad it's getting.

"Officers have seen an increase in the amount of litter at many public access sites over the last few years," Idaho Fish & Game shared on their site.

"In five short minutes of clean-up, Senior Conservation Officer Kayla Brauer from the Magic Valley Region collected a large amount of trash at a popular river access site."

The Dumpsters Are There For A Reason!

Among the items Officer Brauer collected were "aluminum cans, glass bottles, glass shared, a section of carpet, fishing line, styrofoam worm containers, multiple cardboard boxes, and plastic bags."

What's even more bizarre is that they reported a dumpster was nearby.

All it takes is a short walk, toss the stuff in the bin, and you're done. Idaho Fish & Game also reminds us that in addition to the disgusting debris that makes the area look less appealing, the trash can also harm wildlife.

"Many birds, small mammals, and even deer or elk can be entrapped or entangled in our garbage causing sickness or life-threatening issues for the animals. These animals can also confuse our refuse with food sources and ingest them."

According to Idaho Fish & Game, if you're busted for littering, you could face a fine of $206.50 for your first offense.

Let's protect Idaho's great outdoors, and for the love of humanity, can we please use the dumpsters in place?
