Idaho Man Convicted of Abusing and Giving 5-Year-Old Sexually Transmitted Disease

Stories like this are so disturbing that they're hard to write and read. An Idaho man has been convicted of abusing a 5-year-old girl and giving her gonorrhea. 

32-year-old Cory S. McGrath of Coeur d'Alene has been found guilty of lewd and lascivious conduct. According to KTVB, McGrath faces life in prison for his crimes. He will be sentenced in August.

Just as sickening, McGrath's 30-year-old girlfriend Emilie M. Barker tried to cover up his hideous crimes. She has already been sentenced to 12-years in prison, with eligibility for parole in three years.

In addition to the horrible crimes against the 5-year-old, a 12-year-old has told investigators that she was also a victim of abuse.

Any time a child is abused it makes me sick to my stomach. The effects of this abuse will most likely last the rest of these kids lives and it will take years of therapy to even begin to undo. It only took a jury 90-minutes to find McGrath guilty, and personally, it is my hope that he gets the maximum sentence. The lives of this precious 5-year-old and 12-year-old will never be the same because of his horrible acts.
