Idaho Man Hit and Killed By Train

A young man is no longer with us after his truck was hit by a train in Rupert.

Who knows why 30-year-old Ismael Galaviz Victorio was on the tracks. Was he trying to beat the train? Did he not see the train or realize how fast it was going? All we know is that he was there, he was hit, and in an instant, he is gone.

The accident happened at the intersection of 800 East Road and Idaho 24 in Rupert, at about 8:10 a.m. yesterday morning according to KTVB.

The crossing at that point does not have arms that come down to warn people that a train is approaching, so perhaps that is what contributed to this deadly crash.

Police are continuing to investigate and hopefully, they will be able to provide some answers to Ismael's family and friends that will give them peace.
