Pretty soon the snow will start falling and with that comes a lot of slipping and sliding all over the roads. The statistics for Idaho are not good. We land in the top 5 states for dangerous snow driving. Here's what you need to know.

The only states that have worse winter roads than us are Wyoming, Vermont, and Montana. Idaho sits at number 4 and according to Safewise we have about a 0.68 chance of getting in a wreck on snowy roads per 100,000 people.

During our year of Snowpocalypse back in 2016, over 2,300 people died in rain-related crashes across the U.S. and more than 480 people died in snow-related accidents according to KTVB.

The good news is we are expected to have a more mild winter this year. The National Weather Service says El Nino will hit the Northwest meaning warmer temperatures and less snowfall.

Let's change these statistics! Drive a little slower if you need to, keep plenty of room between you and the car in front of you, and remember nothing is worth risking your life for. Your life and the lives of your loved ones are far too precious.
