Some people just know how to "make it work", right? We all know people like this. For some, it was one of our parents saying "This ain't going anywhere" when tying down something in the truck. For others, it's a friend utilizing some duct tape to fix your car.

Police in Jerome, Idaho recently shared a post showing what NOT to do when "trying to make it work."

Whatever You Do... DON'T TRY THIS! THIS IS NOT A SAFE SOLUTION!

We've all seen "life hacks" go viral on social media and while some of them work, every now and then these hacks can be dangerous.

Such is the case in a post shared by Jerome police when they showed a driver just "trying to make it work."

But, it wasn't with any duct tape or spare parts lying around in the garage. Instead, this driver utilized a bungee cord... as their seatbelt.

"Word must have got out that we are passionate about seat belt use," Jerome police shared in a social post, "We can't make these things up!"

"If you are going to implement bungee cords for restraint purposes, remember to always position the hook away from vital organs. Actually, any organs for that matter."

We appreciate the creativity, but as you probably know - this is probably the least safe thing you could do.

Imagine the amount of bodily harm that would occur if this person got into a car accident - OUCH! And look, we get it: Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do... just don't do this.
