Heads Up! More Stimulus Money Is Coming To Idaho!
For some people, the pandemic feels like yesterday; for others, it seems like the world went crazy long ago. There were a lot of things hitting us in the news, and media that many of us simply kept our heads down and went about our business.
Keeping Up With It All
You might recall back in 2021 when people across America received stimulus checks to help with the financial struggles the pandemic brought. The amount you received depended on how you filed your taxes.
As we previously mentioned though, a lot was happening at the time and many people might've overlooked the money they were entitled to when filing their taxes. According to the IRS:
...the Internal Revenue Service today announced plans to issue automatic payments later this month to eligible people who did not claim the Recovery Rebate Credit on their 2021 tax returns.
If you missed your Recovery Rebate Credit because you're forgetful or accidentally miss details, you're in luck. The IRS says you don't have to do anything to claim your missed credit.
No action is needed for eligible taxpayers to receive these payments, which will go out automatically in December and should arrive in most cases by late January 2025. The payments will be automatically direct deposited or sent by paper check; eligible taxpayers will also receive a separate letter notifying them of the payment.
Now, how much money could you actually get?
You Could Be In Store For A Big Chunk of Change
The IRS acknowledges that most people have already claimed their rebate credit but if you're one of the few who haven't, you could be eligible to receive a maximum payment of $1,400. The IRS says a letter "will be sent to the taxpayer receiving these 2021 Recovery Rebate Credit payments."
