Idaho’s Hope For Weed Legalization Takes A Major Hit
Welp, if you were holding onto hope for weed being legalized in Idaho, we have some bad news for you -- the road to legalization hit another major roadblock.
Is Idaho About To Win The War Against Marijuana?
It's been a tough year for marijuana in Idaho. Recently, lawmakers passed a bill that raised the minimum fine for marijuana possession up to $300. While supporters of marijuana felt this was a petty step back, Idaho took things one step further not long after.
Earlier this month, Idaho lawmakers proposed an amendment to the Idaho Constitution that would leave the fate of marijuana legalization in the hands of the Idaho Legislature, not Idaho voters.
Now, a major research breakthrough could be the final piece of ammo Idaho lawmakers need to keep pot out of the Gem State.
Bad News For Idaho Marijuana Supporters
According to a new study, young people who use marijuana are six times more likely to experience a heart attack than those who don't touch the stuff.
Now, it's important to note that the lead researcher told USA Today that more data to confirm the effects they're seeing on the heart. But still, that won't stop people opposed to marijuana from using this latest study against legalization.
This does have us wondering though... what about tobacco? Not just the kind you smoke either but literally, any popular tobacco product. And, we all know about the health effects of alcohol and the impact it has on society as a whole - it makes you do dumb stuff.
So, what do you think? Do you think Idaho lawmakers will weaponize this latest research? Do you think more studies will show different results?
