Idaho’s Final Challenge Before The “100 Deadliest Days” End
The "100 Deadliest Days" in Idaho is as serious as it gets. It's one of the most dangerous times to be on the roads and Idaho's police have done everything they can to take the proper precautions.
It's almost over!
If you're unfamiliar, the "100 Deadliest Days" begin on Memorial Day before concluding on Labor Day. We know life has been moving pretty fast lately so in case you forgot, Labor Day is this weekend.
“As we approach the end of summer, our focus remains on saving lives by getting impaired drivers off the road,” Colonel Bill Gardiner, Director of Idaho State Police said on ISP's Facebook page.
“We want to remind everyone that choosing to drive under the influence is not only illegal but can have tragic consequences.”
Idaho State Police did report that 70 lives were lost on the roads this summer but it's still down from the 79 lives lost last summer.
“Every loss of life is a tragedy, and impaired driving can be prevented,” Gardiner said.
“Our troopers are out in full force to prevent these crashes, but we can’t do it alone. We urge every driver to make the right choice—don’t drive impaired and ensure your loved ones don’t either. Together, we can make Idaho’s roads safer.”
With Labor Day approaching and many of us getting some extra time to enjoy friends and family this weekend, we need to do what we can to keep ourselves, other drivers, and of course, the community safe.
