Jeramiah Dickey Named New Boise State Athletic Director
It's official, Boise State University has a new Broncos Director of Athletics.
Dr. Marlene Tromp who is the BSU President talked about the selection and excitement she had for the change at a press conference that was live on KTVB. "In 35 years in higher education, I have never heard references speak so uniformly and universally and unequivocally highly about a singular candidate," she said. "On- and off-list references praised him to the skies. People said they'd never given higher and better marks to anyone that they'd given a reference for before."
He is stocked and ready to take BSU Athletics to new heights, in the same conference Dickey said, "We will operate at an elite level. The student-athlete experience will matter. We will do it with integrity and character. These are common to what Boise has been and this is what we will be moving forward. We are going to strive for excellence in everything we do."
He already has his work cut out for him and one of his first to-dos is helping in the hire of a new Boise State football coach. Bryan Harsin left last month to accept the head coaching job at Auburn University.
According to KTVB, Jerimiah Dickey earned a bachelor's degree in sport management from the University of Texas in 2004 and a master's of sport science and coaching from Akron in 2018. He is moving here with a happy family, his wife Elizabeth, daughter, Emerson, and two sons, Elijah and Easton. I sure hope he's a country fan ;) Welcome to Boise!
