Man Dies in Manure Pit: Dairy Fined!

Drowning in a manure pit! What a horrible way to die and now the dairy where the manure pit is located is facing serious fines!

The was no warning sign and a man drove his truck into a manure pit in Hazelton, Idaho and drowned.

Now, Sunrise Organic Dairy has been issued two citations adding up to more than a $5,000 penalty.

According to KTVB, OSHA says that employees were exposed to an unguarded manure pit and the dairy should have put up barriers to identify the pit.

Ruperto Vasquez-Carrera was found dead in the manure pit back in February and his body was recovered by divers.

The dairy says they are working to make the area safe.
