Eagle, Idaho was loud and proud with sounds of engines roaring and fans cheering this morning at the Firebird Raceway but that all changed to shock, chaos, terror and one man losing his life in a terrible accident.

 

The Police and Paramedics were called onto the scene immediately when a piece of heavy equipment fell onto the man just after 8:30 this morning.  The man was crushed when a trailer door fell on top of him in the racetrack's loading area.

 

The man has not been identified out of respect for his family and friends.  They will be notified first.  We do know he was in his 60's and he did die at the scene of the accident.

 

The 47th Napa Ignitor Opener kicked off this morning at Firebird Raceway around 8 a.m.  It is not know if the man was involved with the racing or a spectator.  The accident is under investigation.
