With the Treasure Valley possibly getting another foot of snow in the next two days, Mayor Tammy de Weerd has called in The National Guard.

The #1 priority for the help is to keep Ada County roads and storm drains cleared and residents safe.  Personnel and equipment is already on its way.  Officials are currently trying to figure out exactly where the Guard resources will be deployed.

Independent contractors have also been hired to help clear parking spots along Main Street downtown and routes for emergency vehicles.  More contractors are being hired to clear residential areas.  Meridian is asking people to move all their vehicles off the streets if possible.
