My New Serial Fascination
I may get in trouble for this one from the powers that be. You know for promoting something that's not on our radio station....BUT....this is so great I want to share it with you. I had been seeing a bunch of tweets talking about this podcast called "Serial." At first I just dismissed it as being some weird hipster phenom that would last about 10 minutes and then totes fall into hipster obscurity (see what I did there). BUT. I was wrong.
The Serial podcast follows a case that former NPR producer (This American Life) Sarah Koenig took a particular interest in. Sarah narrates her journey in looking at all the evidence against a 17-year-old boy who was convicted of killing his ex-girlfriend. Sarah isn't convinced he did it, or did he? And how well do we know the people in our lives? It's a fascinating trip through witness statements, interviews with all involved, it's like Dateline on a podcast. You have to listen in order as she unravels the case, but there's a new podcast released every Thursday. If you have long commutes and sometimes music isn't helping you escape you definitely have to download this podcast *it's free*!
