Treasure Valley summers are the best! Long days....warm nights.....and lots of BBQ! You can help the Nampa Fire Department build up their burnout fund this Friday!

Remember last December when an apartment complex burned and displaced several families right around Christmas? They were all helped from the local fire department's "burnout fund". Money set aside to help people who experience the unthinkable. Imagine your belongings and memories going up in smoke, with no idea what you are going to do?

That's where special burnout funds come into play. The fire departments help those families get back on their feet and get through the traumatic experience so they can face the future with a plan.

The Nampa Fire Department is doing a fund raiser this Friday, July 14 to help build up their burnout fund. They are hosting a special BBQ downtown Nampa (13th Ave. South) from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. It's all part of the community coming together for the Stampede Community Festival (Snake River Stampede is next week July 18 - 22).

A suggested donation of $10 gets you a big helping of a BBQ Pulled Pork Sandwich, coleslaw, beans, beverage & dessert bar. Beer, wine, and drinks will be available for purchase. They'll also have a fire truck on display, and special kids games!

Live music will also be performed by Soul Patch.
