A bad accident has led to Nampa Fire Chief, Karl Malott fighting for his life at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center.

It happened about 4:30 on Saturday night on I-84 near the Sand Hollow exit just northwest of Caldwell.  53-year-old Malott rear ended a red sedan with his Harley Davidson motorcycle sending him over the top and onto the freeway.  Nobody in the red sedan was injured.

Malott was flown to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center where he is in critical condition.  Troopers have said his injuries are very serious.  Malott was not wearing a helmet.

Nampa Mayor Bob Henry visited Malott in the hospital last night and then released this statement...

"Fire Chief Karl Malott is in critical condition. He has lots of support, and my prayers are with him for a full recovery."

Please keep Fire Chief Marlott in your prayers.  We're thinking of him and his loved ones!
