The Simple Way Homeowners Can Help Nampa Parks This Fall
There are a lot of good people in the Treasure Valley who are willing to do whatever it takes to help the community. But, let's be real for a moment - now and then it's perfectly acceptable to ask: "What's in it for me?"
A Win-Win Situation For Everyone
As fall takes over the Treasure Valley, Idahoans will take the proper measures to prepare for the colder seasons. From taking vehicles in for the proper maintenance to cleaning out the gutters, which speaking of - what are you going to do with all of those leaves?
Nampa residents now have an option that is not only good for them but also for the Nampa community. Nampa Parks and Recreation recently announced an initiative that allows homeowners to get rid of their fallen leaves while also helping freshen up Nampa parks.

"Looking for something to do with all the leaves from your yard?" Nampa Parks and Red said in their press release.
"Recycle your leaves with the Nampa Parks Department. The leaves are recycled and turned into mulch, which is used throughout Nampa’s parks and placed in tree wells to retain moisture."
It's important to note that this is restricted to Nampa residents and that you'll need to be the one who transports your leaves.
"Leaves may be dropped off at Kohlerlawn Cemetery, 76 6th St N, Nampa, ID 83687," Nampa Parks & Rec said. "Signs are posted on Weamer Lane, adjacent to 6th St. North, that give directions to the specific drop-off location.
There are a few other things to keep in mind when you make the decision to drop your leaves off at the cemetery according to their press release:
- Please do not drop leaves off at the cemetery office.
- Loose leaves only, no bags or other non-recyclable materials will be accepted.
- Tree limbs and brush are not allowed.
- Kohlerlawn’s leaf recycling program is a service for Nampa citizens only and is closed to commercial landscaping contractors.
When can I drop off my leaves?
You can take your leaves between October 7th and December 13th, Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. If you're busy during the week, you'll be able to take them in on Saturdays between November 9th and December 7th between 10 AM and 2 PM.
