Officer-Involved Shooting In Meridian – Developing Story

**UPDATE**  One man is dead after Idaho State Police Sgt. Kirk Grothaus after a physical altercation took place forcing the officer to discharge his duty weapon.  Grothaus attempted to render first aid but it was too late and the man died.  KTVB has more details on this story.

There are very few details as of now but we do know that there has been an officer-involved shooting when an Idaho State Police Trooper pulled over someone in Meridian near the area of West Waltman Lane and Meridian Road at approximately 3:30 this afternoon.

We don't know at this time who's been shot, how bad they're hurt, why the shooting took place or if there are any fatalities or not.  KTVB has a crew currently investigating onsite and will be updating information as it comes in.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to all involved.  We can only hope that everyone is o.k.
