Do you know what cars get ticketed the most?

Certain types of vehicles are more likely to attract the attention of law enforcement and receive speeding tickets for a few reasons. Cars that stand out due to their distinctive design, bright colors, or unique features are more likely to catch the eye of law enforcement. Specific car models may be more popular among age groups or demographics that tend to engage in riskier driving behaviors, including speeding. For example, sports cars might be more popular among younger drivers, who statistically have a higher propensity for speeding.

Insurify.com, a trusted name in insurance comparison services, has recently released a list of the most ticketed cars on the road for speeding. This report sheds light on the brands of vehicles that frequently find themselves attracting the attention of law enforcement.

Do you drive one of the most ticketed brands?

Insurify.com breaks down the top 10 brands with the most speeding tickets and which model from that brand is ticketed the most for speeding. In October, Michelle Heart shared which color car gets the most speeding tickets in the state of Idaho, and we decided that we wanted to dig deeper to see if that also correlates with a brand or model.

10 Most Popular Makes and Models Getting Speeding Tickets

To identify the car brands with the most speed-prone drivers, the data scientists at Insurify turned to their database of more than 4.6 million car insurance applications. When applying for car insurance, drivers disclose their vehicle make and model, as well as any citations, such as speeding tickets, they have on their driving record within the past seven years. For each vehicle brand, Insurify data scientists compared the number of drivers reporting a speeding ticket against the total number of drivers in the database to determine the share of drivers with a speeding ticket.
