Flying Out Of Boise Soon? This Popular Airline Announced A New Policy
The summer travel season has all but arrived, and AAA is projecting that a record 45.1 million Americans will be traveling this weekend, with 3.61 million of those Americans traveling by airline.
While the number of people flying this weekend pales in comparison to the number of travelers seen during Thanksgiving or the Christmas season, 3.61 million is nothing to take lightly. It's also why you should be aware of yet another change a popular airline is making.
Southwest Airlines Announces A New Policy Change
Traveling during a busy weekend can be quite stressful, especially if you have to deal with those tight layovers. Thankfully, many of us have our phones to keep us organized and occupied, right?
It's one of the main reasons people bring a charger or portable charger on their lengthy trips to ensure they're never without their phone. Southwest Airlines, however, made a new announcement regarding portable charging batteries on flights.

According to CNET, Southwest Airlines has implemented a new safety policy that goes into effect on May 28th, stating that passengers must keep their portable phone chargers and power banks visible during flights when charging a device.
This means portable chargers and power banks won't be able to be stored in carry-on bags or overhead bins.
It'll be interesting to see how this is handled on flights and how flight attendants will handle situations where passengers are caught breaking the rules. If caught, we'd imagine it would likely be a verbal warning or reminder, but we won't really know until it goes into effect.
