It seems that whenever warm weather arrives, it comes with a side of crazy! Maybe it's because people are eager to let loose after being snuggled and cooped up inside during the colder months, or maybe people are just agitated by warmer weather.

Either way, this time of year seems to bring more incidents (and more work) for our first responders to deal with.

A Teen Is On The Run From Star Police

Police shared a post to social media looking for the public's help in identifying a teenager who evaded authorities on what would have technically been a traffic stop.

"At about 3:53pm this afternoon, a Star Police deputy conducted a traffic stop on a electronic dirt bike (also referred to as an e-bike) for failing to stop at the stop sign at N. New Hope Rd. and N. Can Ada Rd. in Star," police said in the post.

"The rider said he was 16 years old. When the deputy asked him to step off of the bike, the rider fled westbound on Foothill Rd. The deputy did not pursue the rider."

Idaho Police Giving A Masterclass On Patience

First of all, kudos to the police for deciding not to pursue the rider, which could have very well made the situation worse than it was. If anything, it sounds like the officers were attempting to show some leeway by wanting to talk to the e-biker about safe driving.

Talk about patience, right? It'd be so easy for someone to get frustrated at the kid fleeing on their bike and pursue him just to prove a point. But our officers showed patience and restraint, which is something many of us can improve on.

Police also shared that they caught up with two other riders who were destroying the landscape at Freedom Park with their bikes. Only in that instance, the riders didn't flee and had a chat with the officers.

And sometimes, that's all it takes.
