70-year-old Air Force veteran Marshall Helm is being hailed as a hero after he saved his neighbors from a house fire.

Helm was walking his granddaughter to the bus stop early in the morning when the bus driver drew his attention to smoke and flames coming from a house nearby. Helm ran over, threw open the garage door and found flames climbing up the building walls. Despite Helm battling cancer, he didn't hesitate to charge past the flames and into the house to make sure his neighbors were safe.

Gary and Kathy Benjamin were upstairs sleeping when they heard Helm shouting "fire" in their home. They managed to get into the hallway and escape with Helm through their back door. Thanks to Helm, the Benjamins suffered only minor smoke inhalation. Though, they lost their home in the fire. Mr. Benjamin told KMOV"Lifesaver, lifesaver is all I can say." Mrs. Benjamin added "Hero, he's our angel."

If you want to help the Benjamins, there's a GoFundMe page here.
