TMSG: Barbershop Gives Free Haircuts To Veterans, Collects Items For Pantry
Stylists at the Kevin Edward Gentlemen's Barber Shop in Connecticut hosted an event to support two great causes.
The stylists hosted their second free Veteran's Haircut Day. They offered free haircuts to anyone who has ever served in the military, and in exchange they asked veterans to bring a non-perishable food item to donate. The food items then were given to the Old Saybrook Food Pantry.
The event is meaningful for all who participate. Owner of the barbershop Kevin Shea shared with news outlet WFSB, "I wanted do something special for the veterans because they are working every day to protect our lives so we can sleep at night, we can come to work during the day, and it’s just something to say thank you and give back."
The event may be over, but their barbershop is still collecting non-perishable food items at the location for anyone in the area that wants to give back.
