Residents of the Long Island neighborhood made signs and held them up as Watkins drove past. Then, 50 families greeted him in a nearby parking lot with cheers and applause.
One of the women in the group said to Watkins, "You're an essential worker, but you've always been essential to us. You know our families; we know your family. We adore you and we just wanted to say thank you."
Watkins was speechless and kept saying, "This is so amazing!"
