California couple Lauren and Patrick Delgado had to tie the knot in an interesting way after the coronavirus hit them personally.
Lauren tested positive for COVID-19 just days before the couple's scheduled nuptials. But they didn't let the news stop them from getting married in a safe way. The couple already had to reschedule their ceremony three times due to the pandemic and the clock was ticking on their marriage license. So they decided to move forward with their ceremony with some additional changes.
The ceremony was held November 20th at Lauren's family home in Ontario, California. She was isolated from the groom and wedding guests by participating from a second-story bathroom. There were only 10 people in attendance. Lauren sat in the second-story window of her parent's house while Patrick stood in the front yard. They both held on to a rope that was used to signify their commitment to each other.
After isolating for 10 days, Lauren and Patrick finally saw each other for the first time as a married couple. They plan to renew their vows and hold a big celebration next year on their first anniversary.
