A bystander is now a hero after taking action in a serious situation.

According to police, a woman and her 1-year-old daughter were driving through a neighborhood in Arizona when she stopped at a stop sign. At the stop, a man with a gun got into her passenger seat and ordered her to take him to Mesa, Arizona.

The woman then drove into Chandler and stopped the car in the parking lot of a Circle K convenience store. That's when she started screaming at the man to get out of her car. A bystander heard the screams and ran to help. He went up behind the man, put him in a bear hug, and pulled him from the car.

The victim drove away to safety and called 911. The officers responded quickly and found the suspect near the convenience store.
