TMSG: Goodwill Worker Finds $5K In Donated Jacket & Returns It

A few weeks back, a donor to Goodwill in Texas called up to the store in a panic sharing that his wife accidentally left $5,000 cash in a pocket of a jacket she donated.

With hundreds of donations, the Goodwill team couldn't guarantee the donor that their money would be found. Thankfully the jacket caught the observant eye of employee Maqayla De La Pena while she was sorting donations. She found the donated jacket and inside was a bank envelope with the missing cash.

Goodwill got every dollar back to the owner and Maqayla was awarded for her honesty and integrity. The retail director Terry Willett praised the young woman and presented her with a bonus check.
