D1 Training in Asheville, North Carolina held an awesome collaborative event to give back to the first responders in their community.
As part of National EMS week, which runs May 16-22, D1 Training partnered with Veterans Services of Carolinas to give away hundreds of pairs of shoes to show local first responders and essential workers gratitude after a long year due to the pandemic. Aside from being an essential worker, the only requirement to receive a pair of shoes was to write a personal letter to one of more than 400 veterans isolated in veteran homes across North Carolina.
Brandon Wilson, managing director for Veterans Services of the Carolinas, told ABC 13 News, "It's really about showing our appreciation and to honor those who really worked through this pandemic."
