Sterling Heights police officer Cameron Maciejewski is making headlines after saving a 3-week-old baby's life.

He arrived at the family's home in Michigan to find a panicked mother holding her baby girl, who was blinking, but not breathing. The baby's airways were blocked. The officer took the baby and urged the family to remain calm.

Officer Maciejewski started performing back thrusts. In the video, caught by the officer's dash camera, the officer gets the baby's airways cleared and the mother is seen collapsing in tears when Officer Maciejewski says the baby is crying.

The police department shared in a statement, "Not only did the officer save the baby, but the officer did an outstanding job consoling the family."
