Applebee's has announced they are closing 60 to 80 locations this year. Is Idaho on the chopping block?

According to Business Insider the closures are part of the company's "ongoing transformation strategy."

They say part of the reason Applebee's is struggling is their inability to win over millennials. They hope to fix that in the future without abandoning Gen-Xer's and Baby Boomers.

No word yet on whether or not the upcoming closures will affect Applebee's locations in Idaho. Applebee's sister restaurant, IHOP is also expected to close 30 to 40 locations across the country.

There are 12 Applebee's locations in the state. Two in Boise, one in Garden City, another in Meridian, one in Nampa, Idaho Falls, Twin Falls, Pocatello, Rexburg, Moscow, Lewiston, and Coeur d'Alene. I can't imagine at least one or two of these locations won't be affected.

As soon as Applebee's releases which stores will close we will keep you in the know.
