The Basque Country is in between the border of France and Spain. According to National Geographic, a group of Basques arrived in Idaho in the mid-1800s in hopes of finding gold.

National Geographic then says they eventually began working on ranches in central Idaho with the Basque community continuing to boom into today.

So, it should come as no surprise that Boise is a Basque cuisine hotspot. People from all around the world come to the Treasure Valley to try some of the best Basque food in the country.
