How An Error On Google Maps Could Get You A Ticket In Boise

Some of us get so frustrated with drivers on the road that we might forget there could be a logical explanation for their bad driving. Reasons could range from personal things going on to distractions in the car… or a technical error on Google Maps.

Watch the road signs!

Sometimes you have to go places in town you’re unfamiliar with and that involves plugging that address into your GPS. In a lot of cases, people resort to using Google Maps, and if your route takes you along 84, you need to be careful about which speed limit you pay attention to.

Take a look at what Google Maps says the speed limit is along 84 as you leave downtown:

Weeee! We’re flyin’, baby! Right?

Wrong.

Here is a photo of the speed limit sign at this exact area on the map:

If we’re giving the benefit of the doubt, we suppose it can be easy to forget which speed limit you’re abiding by if you’re paying close attention to your GPS. If you’re not paying attention and the law catches you going 15 miles per hour above the speed limit, you’re probably going to have a bad time.

Now, look – we get it. Not everyone can use Google Maps as an excuse to tailgate other drivers and catch a speeding ticket along the way. Some people are just flat-out terrible at driving. If you’re careful, you might catch a serious case that can do some serious damage to your driving record.

And we don’t want that now, do we?

While some of them are funny, others are downright terrifying. Let’s take a look at nineteen things people are doing behind the wheel on 84.
