VIDEO: Boise Reacts To New Boise Police Chief’s Introduction

Boise's New Police Chief Gets A (Somewhat) Warm Reception

In case you missed it, it was announced last August that Mayor McLean appointed Chris Dennison to be the new chief of police.

"I’m pleased to announce that Chris Dennison has accepted my offer to be Boise’s next Chief of Police and excited to introduce him to our community," Mayor McLean said in a press release last August.

"Chris understands the special trust that must exist between a police department and the community it serves. I am confident he will care for our officers and our residents, working collaboratively across the region to keep Boise a safe and welcoming city for everyone."

Dennison recently took to social media to introduce himself, and what he's about, and share his excitement about moving to Boise.

While plenty of comments showed support, a few people didn't seem to care about what the chief had to say. Some even voiced concerns about how he spoke, completely overlooking the point of the video in the first place.

Seriously though, let's give this man the respect and welcome he deserves. He signed up (many of us would never), and has put his life on the line to keep others safe. We shouldn't subject those keeping us safe to the "transplant wrath", right?
