If you've floated around social media pages associated with Idaho and the Treasure Valley, you've probably heard some version of this before: "Idaho is closed! Stop moving here!"

Welp... it sounds like some people are getting their wish!

Are A Lot Of People Still Moving To Boise?

If we're just looking at the numbers, it seems like people aren't moving to Boise anymore. But, as we all know, there are probably still people moving here, but there is a noticeable decline compared to growth in years past.

But why wouldn't people want to move to Boise? We have (almost) everything! Beautiful weather, nice people, clean streets, and there is almost always something going on for any type of interest.

Couple that with a beautiful river running through the city and you have a recipe for the ultimate place to live... right?

Not so fast.

Why Are People Leaving Boise?

Some people like their eggs scrambled, some people prefer them over-easy. It's just the way things are, and it's no different when it comes to the reasons why people would up and leave Boise. For some, it could be politically motivated, while others might be leaving for financial reasons.

We all know the cost of living here isn't exactly cheap, and if you have the opportunity to work somewhere else for more money, why not? Most people would at least listen.

For others, it could be as simple as wanting a change of scenery or getting tired of seeing the area they grew up in changing so fast.
