Empty Bowls Feeds Idaho’s Hungry

Hundreds of Treasure Valley residents lined up today to by bowls...here's why.

The 19th Annual "Empty Bowls" event was held at The Grove Plaza today.

Residents were encouraged to stop by, purchase a bowl that had been donated by a local artist, and some soup. The mostly $10 bowls will benefit the Idaho Food Bank and will benefit hungry members of our community all winter long.

"Empty Bowls" really brings the community together. Artists donate the bowls, local restaurants, donate the soup, and by participating in the event every dollar raised will feed one person 4 meals!

Luckily, this year welcomed another great turn out.

Official numbers aren't in yet, but according to KTVB, The Idaho Food Bank hopes to raise around $30,000 from the event which translates to approximately 120,000 meals!
