Going to Coachella? Leave Your Weed at Home
While marijuana is now legal in the state of California, you won't be able to enjoy your stash at Coachella this year.
First thing's first: This year's Coachella lineup is seriously lacking in the country department. However, if you're into Cardi B, Beyonce and Eminem, this year's festival is pretty packed with some big names. Just don't expect to be high while watching them, because the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has banned marijuana from the entire festival.
Coachella has never allowed marijuana on the property where the concert takes place, and this year is no different. Indio Police Sgt. Dan Marshall explains while marijuana may now be legal, the promoter in charge of Coachella has the right to allow or not allow it on site:
(For instance) you have the right to bear arms, but you don’t have the right to bear arms in my house.
You may have thought that banning ganja would affect ticket sales, but you may have thought wrong. Coachella sold out in a matter of hours. The concert happens April 13-15 and April 20-22 in Indio, California.
