Kick Off The Tokyo Olympics At JUMP Boise

You could watch it at home OR you can experience the food, culture and excitement of the Olympics' opening ceremony in the park at JUMP Boise!

As JUMP has put it, "Japan JUMPS into Boise" this July and they're inviting you out to watch the olympic opening ceremonies on the JUMPotron screen at JUMP park.

JUMP is thrilled to bring the Tokyo 2020 Olympics to Boise through Olympic broadcasts streamed to the JUMPotron screen in the JUMP Park. The public is invited to bring their gold-medal spirit to enjoy the kick-off Tokyo 2020 Olympic Opening Ceremonies on Friday, July 23rd from 4 to 7 p.m., a free community event designed to inspire and bring people together to have fun and understand that there is more that unites us than divides us.

This years' motto is Unity In Motion at jump and that continues this month as we kick off the 2020 summer olympics showcasing the host country, Japan's culture with food, massive installations, Japanese-inspired experiences and more! According to JUMP's website:

In keeping with tradition where the Opening Ceremonies are a grand event for the host country to show off its unique culture to the world, this celebration will commence with Japanese Taiko drumming performances and the Lighting of the Olympic Cauldron (JUMP-style). We’ve also rounded up a few local Olympians including high jump gold medalist Dick Fosbury who revolutionized the high jump event with a “back-first” technique known as the Fosbury Flop, Stacy Dragila, an Olympic gold medalist and a multiple World Champion pole vaulter and pioneer in the women's event, and Representative Muffy Davis, a former alpine skier and Paralympic cyclist from Sun Valley, Idaho. These former Olympians will share an inspirational message following a warm welcome from the regional Japanese Consul General. And watch in awe as Kendo and Laido demonstrations round out the exciting opening presentations.

So kick off the Olympics with JUMP Boise next Friday, July 23rd starting at 4 p.m. at this free event and enjoy the food, culture and the excitement of the Olympic opening ceremonies!
