Its one of the funnest winter activities you can do, but they are putting the kibosh on it in this Idaho forest.

Snowmobiles will be banned in the Great Burn recommended wilderness area. This is the area along the Idaho-Montana border that spans over 391 square miles.

According to usnews.com there are no roads in this area and even though snowmobiles will not be permitted, motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles will still be allowed.

The Idaho State Snowmobile Association disagrees with the plan and a judge later concluded that there is no proof how snowmobiles would impact the elk.

Either way don't plan on snowmobiling in this area of the Idaho forest this winter.
