We had our fingers crossed that the Coronavirus pandemic wouldn't destroy the exciting country concert schedule coming to the Treasure Valley this year. With another big tour announcing its cancellation, there are just a few shows left on the calendar. Tim McGraw's "Here on Earth Tour," featuring Midland and Ingrid Andress, will not hit the road. The tour was supposed to be at Ford Idaho Center on August 28th. At this time, there is no make-good date.

Tim McGraw is the third significant country cancellation at the venue in the past week. Other canceled Treasure Vally concerts include Kenny Chesney and Thomas Rhett. At this point, the only major country concert on the schedule is Miranda Lambert. She has rescheduled her date in Nampa twice before finally landing on October 9th.

Dan + Shay, currently scheduled for October 29th at Extra Mile Arena, has already canceled the first leg of their "The (Arena) Tour." The first show of this second leg is on July 30th in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

While Idaho continues to flatten the curve and shows positive signs of returning to normal life in the next few months, other cities are still on lockdown. Most states have limited gatherings to under fifty people. It's hard to imagine the concert calendar filling back up before those restrictions expire.

When concerts return to the Treasure Valley, many music fans will stay home because of the fear and uncertainty that has come with the COVID-19 outbreak. The future of concert-going is very much in the air as venues continue to explore other options, such as drive-ins.
