This one happened to a Caldwell man just south of Fruitland.  Please be careful driving out there.

Around 9:30 this morning an investigation was opened at milepost 58.5 on U.S. 95, 50-year-old Christopher Lowe of Caldwell couldn't negotiate a turn in his Toyota Camry.  Lowe eventually went off the road, down an embankment, and into the side of a dirt driveway where he went airborne and eventually landed in a field on the west side of the highway.

Investigators think the crash happened just after midnight.  Nobody had seen Lowe who unfortunately died by the time the vehicle was spotted that morning.  Lowe was not wearing a seat belt at the time of his crash.

We're expected to get 1-3 inches of snow tomorrow and temperatures are still in the teens which means... icy roads.  Please drive safe!
