As if the world wasn't crazy enough, Boise is expected to face weather that could be easily confused with the apocalypse.

Boise is set for a historic day of weather

If we didn't know better, we would think the world is ending today. Out of curiosity, we asked AI to describe what the weather would look like during the apocalypse and it's quite terrifying... and kind of close to what we should expect today:

Unending storms, ash-choked skies, acid rain, extreme heatwaves, bitter cold, toxic fog, violent winds, and perpetual darkness; a chaotic climate, hostile and unpredictable, with nature's wrath making survival nearly impossible in a desolate, lifeless world.

Okay, maybe that's a bit extreme but the National Weather Service for Boise is predicting some extreme weather today; some might even say it's apocalyptic.

"A very active weather day is expected on Wednesday, with severe storms, flooding over burn scars, excessive heat, smoke, and fire weather concerns," NWS Boise shared on X, formerly Twitter.

"Stay weather aware, especially if you have outdoor or travel plans! #orwx #idwx"

The stars are lining up for a crazy day of weather as eastern Oregon continues to battle a fire that has consumed over 240,000 acres as of yesterday. Unlike AI's description which includes toxic fog and bitter cold, Boise is in the middle of a record heatwave.

As a matter of fact, the National Weather Service for Boise says that this past Monday (7/22) tied for the second-hottest day on record in Boise at 106 degrees. Today's forecast calls for a high of 104 at the time of this publishing and it'll likely get a little higher than that.
