Helpless Utah Dog Rescued From Freezing Pond Caught On Video
It's a nightmare situation for any pet owner: seeing your pet struggling to survive and you're absolutely helpless. There is no way you can save them and all you can do is watch.
That's exactly what happened to one family as they witnessed their dog struggle and nearly pass away.
Winter weather always presents challenges
When we think about the challenges winter weather and snow bring, a lot of us are quick to think of driving and traffic. Rightfully so, too - it can be dangerous out there but there's also another important thing we have to think about: our pets.
It's not uncommon for people to take their dogs out for a stroll in the cold weather and in Davis County in Utah, one family almost lost their dog to an icy pond. In a post made to Facebook, North Davis Fire District shared:
Bob the dog loves the water but the ice shelf prevented him from being able to get out after his polar plunge. Please be safe with your pets and children as ice conditions are still not as safe as we’d like them to be.
In the video, we see a firefighter known as Logan make a harrowing rescue, getting in the freezing water to rescue the dog known as "Bob."
Firefighter Logan did a fantastic job today helping Bob. The rest of “B” shift who you can’t see on camera are on the bank making sure Logan and Bob remain safe.
Freezing temps have been plaguing Utah and Idaho and as we're about to see, it can create some dangerous situations.
Let's take a look at the amazing rescue.
