FACT: Idaho Is Officially More Corrupt Than California

Let's go ahead and add this to things we never had on our bingo card!

A study came in revealing that Idaho is more corrupt than California.

How And Why Is Idaho More Corrupt Than California?

First of all, who's keeping score on this in the first place? Why would we care if California is more corrupt than Idaho and vice-versa?

The answer can be found in the way we hear Californians talked about in Idaho. We're not saying we're here to necessarily say we're "Team California", but this might actually help us understand why people are abandoning California for Idaho.

A detailed study from World Population Review ranked every state in the country based on a corruption score. To our surprise, Idaho didn't just beat California in the corruption ranking... Idaho obliterated California in the ranking for corruption.

This is a surprise to us mostly because of the population difference between the two states. One would think a state with more people has more chances to be corrupt but that doesn't appear to be the case.

Okay, we get it... Idaho is more corrupt than California, so what?

This should be somewhat alarming because we're not solely focused on Idaho just beating California, but Idaho is in the top ten for corruption.

The metrics to determine this include various data including sources like the "States With Anti-Corruption Measures for Public Officials (SWAMP) Indices."
