Idaho Sheriff Arrested On Charges of Rape and Sexual Abuse of Teen

They are supposed to protect us from the bad guys, so when they become the bad guys who do you trust. This Idaho sheriff has been arrested on unthinkable charges. 

Lincoln County Sheriff Rene Rodriguez has been charged with rape, lewd conduct, and felony sexual abuse of a child under the age of 16.

The 40-year-old was arrested Friday and booked into the Blaine County Jail according to KTVB.

The Lincoln County Sheriff's office is not commenting on this case and neither is the Attorney General's Office.

We have no details on this case. Somehow it feels like Rodriguez being a sheriff he gets another level of protection.

Keep in mind he has only been arrested at this point and has not been proven guilty, but obviously, there was enough evidence of rape, lewd conduct, and sexual abuse of this child that warranted throwing him behind bars.

No word on whether or not Rodriguez has posted bail or when he is due in court, but we'll keep you updated as this story develops.
