Tony Nelson has been principal at Star Middle School since it opened up last August.  Previously he worked as the principal for Eagle Middle School.  Nelson is currently being charged with two felony counts of what's being called "Injury To A Child".  What kind of injury or what circumstances surround this incident has not been released to the public as of now.

According to The Idaho Press, Nelson was arrested on Thursday, May 9th, 2019.  The judge set bond at $100,000 which Nelson was able to eventually post and was released from jail at 1:52 p.m. on Saturday, May 11th.

Nelson has been placed on paid administrative leave and the vice principal, Tyler Pence, has taken over principal duties for now.

The chief communication officer for West Ada School District, Eric Exline made this statement...

The district was aware that Canyon County was investigating a domestic issue that occurred at the Nelson home.  We were not aware that the investigation had led to charges being filed until the day Mr. Nelson turned himself in.

Hopefully, justice will prevail in this case and all those that are guilty will be prosecuted and those that are innocent will be able to move past this and on with their lives.  We'll keep you posted as new developments surface surrounding this case.
