A tragic drowning in the Treasure Valley last night serves as a warning to be very careful around water, even as an adult.

The publicly unidentified man drowned at an at home pool located at 11360 W. Platte River St. just east of Lake Lowell. Alcohol is believed to have played a factor in the drowning according to an article on idahonews.com.

We'll keep you posted on this story as it develops. No other information is available at this time.

This tragic death is a good word of warning to be very careful around water no matter your age. According to the CDC, drowning is the leading cause of accidental death for children between the ages of 1 and 4. Already this summer we've seen the devastating death of Granger Smith's 3-year-old son, River.

Please use a lot of extra caution with your kids and with yourself. Of course, water and alcohol are never a good mix.
